Long ago, when the earth was still but a young planet, when the grass was its greenest and the sky its bluest, there lived a creature so pure, only those who have never known the taint of evil could approach it. That creature was the unicorn.
Alas, the wheels of time do not stand still, and the world did not stay pure for long. Evil began to take form, and with came the destruction of everything which was right and good. Tools became weapons, hunters became warriors, and friends became enemies. As brother began to fight against brother, the unicorn found that there was no room left for a creature as good and as pure as itself.
It hid in the deepest of forests, learning to become invisible whenever someone would approach it. Eventually fact fell into legend, and legend became myth. The unicorn stayed hidden from the eyes of man for so long its existence was forgotten, if indeed it ever existed at all. Yet even in these most cynical of times, there are those who still yet believe . . .
Could it be that somewhere beyond the limits of logic there exists a place of magic, where those who are still pure of heart can glimpse things others cannot? Perhaps the unicorn does indeed still exist, and is but awaiting his time in the sun, when the world is pure enough once again to sustain its beauty. If that is indeed the case, the noble unicorn has more faith in mankind than most of our race.
